Need help adding mobile redirect script

I built a mobile optimized website for a customer and went to install the redirect script. When I opened their index.html page there are no <head> tags and no <body> tags.

Can I add them and where? I know the head tag is below the html but where can I put the closing head tag? Also cannot find the <body> tag.

I am new to adding mobile redirect scripts and this one has me stumped. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

topnichewebsites was nice enough to work out the details to help me get the mobile redirect code working. I cannot thank him enough.
