Setting Up Thunderbird

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anybody could help me set up Thunderbird.

All the emails I want to use are hosted with Hostgator but I'm not sure what I need to do.

Most things technical go over my head, so "pop" and "imap" don't really mean much too me!

    This is not an easy question for anyone to answer without going into a lot of detail!

    Also - the various settings you need for either pop3 or imap (whichever you choose) will be shown in your Hostgator control panel under "email"

    Hope that helps a little.
  • thunderbird settings are similar to outlook express. basically you need to type in the
    pop3 server in the "pop" server box and smtp setting to the smtp box...

    but As PJ says above it is hard to explain every step here. However, I found a video
    here which may help in the process.

    If you get really stumped by this feel free to PM me - I use a product (GoToAssist by Citrix) that allows me to remotely access your desktop (with your consent of course!) and show you how to do things.
