Joomla Problem - SEO plugins lead to 404's

Hi,

i installed a couple of SEO plugins into my new joomla installation. I have setup the categories and sections, and defined the aliases. Now i have this cool links that look like domain/articles/2-section/2-category/article.html

But i only get 404 errors -.-

I use:
for hosting - Hostgator
the domain lies at: Namecheap
Joomla 1.5.6 core

The DB user and the FTP users have full rights.

Im really desperate -.-

  • i forgot to add, i suspect that the server gives the error because he cant find the "article.html" since its stored at verycrypticandugly?=path&thatsucks=really

    • It sounds like you are using Joomla 1.5 and it is using the default SEO re-write links. However, I recommend you use sh404sef and activate that. Also, you need to make sure you have the correct .htaccess settings for 3rd party SEO plugins which is a seperate setting for the default internal SEF system.
