Best way to utilize programming in IM?

Hello fellow code junkies
Its been a while since I've been on the forum due to school. I've already learned so much studying computer science at my university, I'm confident I can pick up any language and tackle common IM-related tasks.

So I ask you guys, what is the best way to utilize your programming skills in terms of making money?

Creating wordpress plugins/themes?
Creating facebook apps?
Creating android/ios apps?

I've given some thought into creating some type of addon/plugin/theme/app/program that benefits IMers and market it as a WSO. What do you think?

  • Well this seems like a poll rather than a question. I am programmer too and my suggestion is to create android/ios apps the reason is because google promotes your app, you don't have to spend time promoting it.

    • Not to give away your secrets but what kind of apps are making money these days?

      I made a decent amount a few years ago but it is hard to come up with new ideas and try to get traction.
