Flowplayer not working on iPhone or Android devices in aMember

Hey guys,
I am setting up my membership site and I am loading up all the videos with flowplayer as it is the supported video streamer in aMember, however the videos can't be viewed on iPhone or Android devices.

It comes up with a black box and says you need to flash plugin, but Flowplayer says it works in HTML5 then falls back to flash if that isn't supported.

Weird thing is, if I go directly to flowplayer's website, I can watch the videos on there fine!? Mind boggling haha.

Is there anyone out there who has had similar experiences with this kind of thing and found a fix?

I want to be able to market saying desktop, tablet or mobile access so I have to make it work before I do that! haha.

FLV which when looking up seemed like the best format for the video to be in for Flowplayer.

Does the video format affect the way it plays even though it is going through Flowplayer?

I just uploaded an MP4 and that works on my android... Kind of...

All I get is the sound, no picture.

So is this purely a video format thing I take it?

Ok so I have found the issue and sorted it. Posting this as I know a lot of other people are experiencing the same problem and haven't found a solution.

It all comes down to the format of your video.

FLV file types require flash which is not supported on iOS devices (iPhone, iPad) or Android phones.

The best file type to use which works on all (well 99.9% I am guessing) devices is:

MP4 with H.264 Codec

This works seamlessly with flowplayer on desktop and mobile devices.

This sorted my issue so hopefully sorts it out for everybody else!

  I remember going through this and finding that once I fixed display on some devices by going to mp4 it broke on others that wanted flv. I think there is a way to offer both if you run into that problem but you'd have to ask flowplayer support.
