I need a Chess Program made.

Hello I am a web developer and I am currently building a Chess Site for people to have live chess tournament online.

I am not knowledgable when it comes to Programming but I was wondering does anyone here know how to build this for me? oR know were i should start

I wonder if existing chess programs or chess services have published API?
That would be easiest route.

You need to run a chess engine first. There are a few open-source engine online. Just google for chess engines. Then simply communicate with the engine via a php wrapper, java, perl or you can even write your own cgi app using c++ or realbasic.

There was a script that you can get that lets you play by email I think. It could be modified. It was in a package with a lot of other scripts.
