recommend Wordpress plugins for membership video section?

Hi,

I'm looking to create a members-only video section on my wordpress site. Basically people pay a monthly/annual/lifetime fee and they get to login and watch members-only videos. I plan to have about 400 videos.

Do you know any proven wordpress plugins that you recommend?

    • Yeah, I should clarify that I'm looking for a video plugin. Membership, I got that down. I'm starting to see that it's impossible to find a fully featured video interface and membership functionality all in one plugin.

  • I am not an expert in this but hosting 400 videos on your blog/website will require you to buy a VPS. That will be quite expensive. Just to let you know . . .

  • I've been using a VPS for the past 3 years and currently use Amazon S3 to host my content. But the thing I'm asking for is an interface. A plugin that manages this "video library". Think www.lynda.com... I wanna do something like that. (But way more simplified.)
  • I am not sure but, I think you should hire some one to create one. Your requirement is highly specific. To the best of my knowledge there is no such plugin & even if there is one then I don't think it will sustain in high traffic. Again I am not an expert & I may be wrong.
  • Hi. One of the greats "John Chow" uses Vimeo for video membership hosting. I intend to go that route.

    • I agree -- host on Vimeo (paid but relatively inexpensive) and simply post the URL into your Membership site for each video.

      PS -- I used to host on S3 but this is just soooo much easier :-)

      I use Vimeo for my training videos and can specify which sites they appear on (my membership site) and lock down all the controls so the player looks just how I like.
