domain and subdomain?

Current Situation:
Hello everyone I'm a newbie here and I'm building my own website from scratch. Recently I have added a new domain to my existing hosting company using Addon Domains in the cPanel X. Under the package i bought one which can host unlimited domains.

My Questions:
When I look under Subdomains in my cPanel X, under the Modify a Subdomain category it is stated that there
MyNewDomain.MyOriginalDomain.com

1) Does that mean my newly bought domain have become a sub domain?

But when I key in MyNewDomain.com or MyNewDomain.MyOriginalDomain.com both goes to the page I'm doing right now.

2) If that is the case will it have any implication(s) on the new domain i'm working on. Especially on ranking.

Sorry if I'm asking any irrelevant or stupid questions here but I do really need help. Many Thanks to those who can help to contribute.

    Hello

When you buy a domain, in cpanel it's called the ROOT Domain.

When you go in Subdomains in cpanel, you have "Create a Sudomain" and "Modify a Subdomain".

It's when you create a subdomain that you say where your files will go.

E.g. let's say your root domain "houses" goes to /public_htm/houses
then you can set your subdomain "buy" to /public_html/houses/buy (you do that in the "document root" text input).

In this case "houses" and "buy" are both folders where you upload your file(s).

so you would have " www . houses . com " as your main domain
and " buy . houses . com " as your subdomain

as for ranking, if you refer to Google, every page of every domain and subdomain has its own ranking

When you add a subdomain in the cPanel, it create a subdomain under the main domain, just to make the room(folders) for the root path of your newly added the domain. Your newly added can still work stand-alone. Exactly same as of your first domain.

Just redirect the one to the other with htaccess (mod rewrite).

domain . com and www . domain . com normally goes to the same place.
Can be changed maybe in domain settings.
