Joomla and SEO

Though the entire world might be using wordpress and rightly so, its so easy to us and SEO wise just unbeatable. More and more people are using joomla for their websites I started out using wordpress and but when I started using joomla and learning it ( Mind you the learning curve for joomla is long),I realised the power of Joomla (I had also used drupal). Joomla's power comes not from the CMS itself but from the amazing community that joomla has, its simply mind boggling what you get for free with Joomla when compared to other CMS.

Joomla has URL rewrite so SEO friendly URls are easy.

1.I use K2 component for article management on Joomla, which makes it more powerful, as powerful as wp if not more.
2.User management is miles ahead of Wordpress if you are looking to create a subscription based website
3.SEO , I use joomla's native URL rewriting and joomla meta tags plugin to create meta tags automatically

Joomla is just so much more flexible, This thread can be used for discussing joomla and its features. I will answer as much as I can, I just love joomla if you cant already tell.

    I've heard a lot of negative comments, both on this forum and elsewhere, about Joomla's security. Can you comment on your experiences with security (or lack thereof), patches, upgrading, etc?

      Joomla 1.0 is very secure .There are some concerns with 1.5 but these are being patched up as an when reported by the community j1.5 has seen 11 updates in 1.5 years.I dont think any other open source community can match this level of development in releasing updates and most of them being security updates.

      Even the lates J1.5.11 is an security update.If I know what is the exact security measure you are looking at then i can explain it better.

      But overall security is very good.
