Does it make sense to use SEO for Kindle products?

How would you promote Kindle books via SEO? Optimize for a page you control? Or optimize for the actual page on Amazon?

    I've been thinking about this very subject for a week or two. I have an older Kindle book I published in 2011, I had forgotten all about the book until Amazon recently sent me a check in the mail.

    Anyways, now I'm interested in seeing how far I can push sales for that book. I was thinking about Amazon & how their pages usually show up in Google SERPs for most store type products.

    Since Amazon already has built in authority basically all that's left is building links directly to the Amazon page you want ranked. Creating multiple books on Amazon/Kindle targeting the same subject & building links to each of those sales pages for the exact same keyword would also help, might even squeeze out double/triple Google SERP listings per target keyword. So at the very least create 3 books targeting the same subject/keyword.
