Rather, the following wordpress themes looks very generic. Would it suffice for a micro niche site even tho it's a bit plain? how does one weigh the benefits of the SEO on the theme over the cosmetics?

www . 000vitamins . com

Found these examples on the wordpress site of the SEO themes they have.

Thanks!
Daniel

  • There's absolutely no reason to give up SEO for cosmetics. Don't get me wrong, I see people do it all the time but normally if they just took a day or two you can find a great looking theme with the proper SEO elements you need to rank well.

And your link appears to go nowhere.

Here's a tip for Wordpress themes that you like (visual appeal).
    • Look at the download zip file size.

Very small WP theme file sizes don't usually have a bunch of unnecessary fluff. Example, nobody needs 107 fonts just because they exist.

Obviously even a small file size can be a crappy theme for onpage SEO but it's a very quick way to weed out themes that are bloated with a bunch of junk & narrow down your choice of available WP themes. From there you can optimize the WP theme source files to fit your own needs (onpage SEO, etc...).

    • Yes, very intelligent input right here from hossainigbal.

Tell me, hossainigbal, do you write many good contents?

  • I'd say focus on the SEO rather than the cosmetics. Why? Because ugly sites rank and convert well. But a site that is not properly optimised won't rank well.
