When buying links, how many do you want to see

When you buy or rent links on a high authority site, what is the maximum link count you want to see on the site?

I have seen some as low as ten, and others from 20 to 40. What is the limit you like to see in order for you to want to buy a link?

If the price is factoring in how many OBL's there are, it is not a huge issue. I'll rarely pay for a link on a page with more than 50 (most of the time I'm looking for less than 5), but it all depends on the price, the authority and relevance of the page, and the traffic that the page gets.

My answer is the classic it depends. The key factors are cost, number of OBL, site authority, relevancy, and if I can control the anchor text.

Unless it's a true authority site, I'm looking for sites that have less than 20 OBLs and are relevant to my niche. Buying a $10-$40 guest post on a site with 100's of OBLs covering everything under the sun is worthless. Especially once it's on an inner page.

I've done a lot of true guest posting and the best links were from relevant sites with specific anchor text. You don't need 100's of them (which is risky anyways), just a few can move you.

PBN links available: Many niches & each domain only has 10 OBL.
PM to Guest post on Buzzfeed style 5 year old site. DA 38 / PR 4 / 300+ linking domains.

Obviously the lower the OBLs the better, but it does depend on the price you are paying. I generally wouldn't buy anything with more than 15 OBLs personally, but again that's just me. If you're getting a really good price, then go for it. Otherwise, make sure it's in the 5-10 range.
