Is having signature links on different forums at all valuable?

I have signed up to 100 forums. 91 of them are NOT nofollow. so basically only 9 of them are nofollow. Will I get any ranking for this or do I have to make a post it's self with my URL? Read a post that said google killed any value for signatures. Thanks!

It's really great that you signed up to 100 forums for Back links ! Google gives much value to Do Follow Links & give little value to No Follow Links ! It means is not No Follow is wasted !

NoFollow links always works and it save your from Spamming. It is not wasted to generate NoFollow backlinks.

Agree with you, but you can't tell him they save him from Spamming!!! They can make the link look natural to Google, but SPAMMING in the forum for example and those nofollow links don't have anything in common

Are you kidding me?!?!?!?! The whole thing is crap.

If you think google gives a rat's hat about forum sig links in 2014,
well, then you are not on this planet. Nofollow or not.

Besides blog commenting, it's the biggest piece of link spam.

Thanks for this question. Accurate anchor text can't be used for ranking anymore. That's a shocking news as I ranked several keywords with exact anchor text. So if you want to rank a page via forums then you need to have different anchor text based signatures in different forums. Don't use same anchor text based signature in all the forums.

You will get link juice from dofollow forums and not sure about Google killed any value for signatures. Please feel free to share the post.

    Hi TekNite,

Generally forums not accept links on signature, but you have got 9 sites to place links and hyper links on signature. So, you can proceed with the same process with signature linking. Its a best way to get backlinks.

Some of you really have no idea what you are talking about. Nofollow links provide no benefit. You don't need them. They don't help anything.

Signing up for 100 forums just for the signature links is a giant waste of time. Giant.

Is that considered PBN? It seems like it could have potential. Build up a legitamate blog somewhere and occasionally link back to your site.

Signature links do still work if you are posting on relevant and high PR forums. Make sure you use different anchor texts to avoid any penguin-related penalties.

That said, the approach you are taking is a very slow one. There's nothing wrong with building links slowly (in fact that's what I recommend); the problem is that the links are low quality links.

Thanks. And yeah it is very slow. Too slow, I think, for the two page micro niche site I am doing this for. As my first site it was a good started and learned a lot but I do not think i'll spend much more time on promoting it. SEO I am sending you a PM.

Are you also active in those forums?
Because, if you're not, chances are you'll either get your account deleted after a while or something.

well a dofollow link will have some impact, but you relaly need to be active inthe forums to get the benefit of referral traffic fro myour signiture. Chances are you won't be able to be active in 100 forums. It would probaly make more sense to pick about 2-3 and actually become a known person there.

Having a mix a nofolow and dofollow is good to look more natural - but it just happens naturally anyways if you are building several types of backlinks.

I would not base your entire backlink strategy on forum posting/signiture - that basically what xrumer is - and in the long run doesn't give that much benefit compared to high quality links from authority pages.

Posting on forums is good to help get your name out there. Not only will G see a bunch of NO FOLLOW links, which might help a little, but hopefully people will start adding links to you website. They can't link to you, if they never visit your website!

Nofollow links pass no direct SEO value at all.

Dofollow links will pass SEO value if Google hasn't downgraded the forum for what it links to.

Google does stop PR flow from some sites, depends how the owner manages them, if they get caught selling links for example all outbound links can be set by Google to pass no SEO value. What do you think Google does with domains that allow their users to post dofollow links to anything with no moderation?

Even though the forum links that aren't nofollow pass SEO benefit (possibly, see above) the amount of SEO benefit tends to be minuscule/practically irrelevant.

If this forum were dofollow I wouldn't waste my time posting links just for the direct SEO benefit, there are so many new webpages indexed a day and so many links on every page the amount of link benefit passed is practically non existent. This thread is unlikely to even be PR1, look at how many links there are, if they were all dofollow one links share is nothing, you'd need thousands of them to pass any value.

You'd probably gain more SEO benefit from one half decent link on a small blog with the same home page PR as the Warrior Forum than posting 1.000 links in threads here (if they were dofollow, which they aren't).

So yes, but so little benefit it's working your ass off for nothing.

IME Best way to generate links is link bait, create something webmasters will link to.

As mentioned by previous posters, SEO value from forum signature links probably aren't very useful or effective. However, if you regularly contribute to just 10% of the forums you signed up for (assuming they are active forums) you could benefit greatly from exposure and opt ins which I think may be far better.

Google does not like forum signature links anymore. Whether do follow or no follow, forum sigs are useless for seo. Use it to get direct traffic by actively participating and helping others in forums.

I'm afraid you're going to have to do the hard work of creating value. What you've created is spam, and it will get your site no where.

Forum signatures will help to send targeted traffic to your website specially if you're an active member. But if your purpose only is to get back link, well they are not that helpful

I am only active in this forum nowadays and I get great value from my signature form work directly from the forum and from people who contact me after going to my sites and then asking questions.
You never know what can help you so the more DIFFERENT links you have out there the better. But 99 forums is overkill imo.
