Has anyone used Screaming Frog?

I Just tried screaming frog but couldn't get the exact idea of what it actually do and what kind of reports and stats it shows. Please help in understanding it if its worth using.

    That's confusing considering you have web/dev & SEO links in your sig.

    The whole point of Screaming Frog is researching on-page SEO.

    Well, I sometimes used screaming frog and following things that are really helpful than other tools

    1. You can extract all pages title, meta desc. and keywords
    2. Missing Alt tag images
    3. 404 URLs as well as 302 (trace out temporary redirection)
    4. Extract Missing H1 tags
    5. Extract duplicate title, desc. and keywords

    I have used it and found it good for finding missing and duplicate on-page elements and meta data. There are of course other similar tools available.

    screaming frog is just a spider that you can run on your computer. Its helpful to find all the page status (404, 301,302 etc) and also gather all data about meta info - like titles, descriptions etc - its a helpful place to start if you are doing on-page stuff - it also checks H1, H2 and other on-page elements.

    You might also use it to find duplacate content, as well as the general indexing structure of the site, ive used it before and found that a clients entire admin was indexed and vulnerable - so gave a chance to fix that and edit robots.txt too.

    In summary: screaming frog - helpful to crawl and make on-page checks for the whole site in 1 go.
