I have a question on duplicate content as well, if the OP will allow it:

Lets say my niche is about training dogs.

Now, first website explains training of Labrador Dogs specifically, no other kind just those. The second website explains training puddles, etc, third, forth -- point being I have a multiple micro-sites with different niches but all are related because they all deal with animal training / dogs.

The question: If I want to make one more page, everything will be the same, from template to amount of content.

Why can't I just copy the whole first website and paste it as a new website just change download links to guides and ofcourse the dog type e.g. change "labrador" with "puddle" etc.

To the customer this makes no difference, and it would make my job A LOT easier, every piece of content is a general text type stuff explaining basic things - which is true and can be used for ALL dog types.

      Thanks!

I think it comes down to the uniqueness % of an article but I'm not entirely sure. That'd be my best guess, though. With that the changes would be so minor I would imagine it would be duplicate content.

Maybe you could spin it/rewrite it? Even though I'm sure that's a lot to rewrite.

If you use duplicate content with minor changes on multiple websites, pages, posts or wherever, only one of them will be indexed and showed in search results (preferably the piece that you posted first - if it gets indexed).

If you depend on organic traffic then it is really a bad thing to do. However if your major traffic comes from any other source like social networks (assume) then it is absolutely OK to use duplicate content.

BUT I'd never do this to my sites/pages/posts so I'd recommend the same.

Even if you end up rewriting different dog related content with minimal unique content, I am afraid you will still have issues grabbing better spots in SERPs.

The best method is to stick to unique and informative content - no matter what. A single Google update (maybe in May 2017) might ruin your entire business if it is totally Google-dependent.

I recommend rewriting the articles. if you can't rewrite them, outsource the work to writers on freelance sites like Odesk. You'll pay less than you would have paid if they were to write the articles from scratch. This way, you'll pay less and still have unique content.

Yes you can duplicate the pages and theme but not the CONTENT!

for the content, you should hire an expert!

Don't let the other site clone you. Instead, be sure they include unique information relevant to that geographical area, targeting visitors with information they might be seeking based on locale.

Thanks a lot guys, your insight helped me.

I have no problem rewriting my articles, if I can write a 600 word, unique, relevant articles within 15-20 minutes then of course I can rewrite any of them.

I just wanted to know because I'm on a tight schedule and I'll have to bring out new sites every week, each with about 10 articles.

      Why has no one suggest the href lang tag, recommended by Google;
      https://support.google.com/webmaster...r/189077?hl=en ?

I've never used it for Spanish but I've used it for English (UK and Australian) with great success. You put the same content up on example.co.uk and example.com.au and add the meta tags (there are XML sitemap options as well).

When you do an exact match search in google.co.uk the UK site ranks and vice versa for the .com.au site.

      Cheers,
      Paz.

People, please. Honduras and Mexico? Get a grip on reality.

You crazy people falling all over duplicate content are just silly.

There are plenty of website clones, copies, duplicates, etc. and
        they work just fine.

Ask gasbuddy. I dare anyone to search for gas prices...
        gasbuddy is the clone king.

I aint even going to mention wikipedia.
