Wordpress SEO...Is this correct?

Hi all,

I just installed Jeff Johnson's traffic getting plugin on a new blog. I noticed that his plugin doesn't use the option "Use noindex for categories" in the All-in-One-SEO plugin.

Is this correct? I have been under the impression (perhaps false) that the noindex option should be used in order to avoid the search engines thinking you have duplicate content on your own site.

  • Believe it or not, Google's algorithms know a WordPress site when they find one and handle the issue of internal duplicate content on category and tag pages quite well. However, you may not want these pages showing up in results for various reasons, such as them not showing relevant ads, so you may want to hide them in some fashion. Noindex is one way of doing it.
  • Cool, thanks for your help!
