Anyone know of software to search + replace text additively?

Does anyone know of an online or desktop tool to help build article "resource boxes"?? For example:

The author loves dog training (URL1) and you can get a free report at (URL2).

The author runs a dog training school (URL1) and you can enroll your dog at (URL2).

I want to be able to enter 200 or more of those sentences and then search and replace words and phrases, to build thousands:

author ===> writer
school ===> academy

But I want to the FIRST versions, and just the new versions to the bottom of the list. And keep ADDING MORE variations as I continue to search + "replace".

Does that make sense? So if I started with 200 sentences, all containing the word "author", then I changed to , I would then have 400 versions total (not merely 200 new versions.) Without erasing the 200 starting versions.

Then, 800, 1600, 3200 etc.

It would be similar to the UAW (Unique Article Wizard) interface with the pink Resource Box Generator, which I cannot stand and always freezes up on me.

I subscribe to Spin Rewriter, but it does not appear to allow for this function. I am not really talking about a spinner.... just a replacer that is additive.

  • Thanks folks, but a Word Processor, including MS Word, will replace without adding the new paragraphs below.

    Recall the 200 ==> 400 above.

    I realize I could just keep cutting and pasting results into a second document, and go back and forth . . . . I just thought maybe there was something better out there. I would need to keep opening a new doc, then pasting, then go back to the previous doc, and search+replace, then copy that into 2nd doc, then create a 3rd doc..... etc. etc. Annoying and easy to screw it up

      What I would do then is maybe use https://clevergizmos.com/keyword-researcher/ and modify it by not selecting its presets, but rather pasting your phrases in. This software wwill then mine the Google auto suggest DB, and will most likely find all of the possible variations after the first sets of chars.

      It might work if I'm thinking what your trying to do is accurate.
  • Thanks Kevin . . . not quite right yet. I am looking for something much simpler. Just the ability to search+replace without destroying the originals. . . . search and ADDON.

    If I understand you correctly (OP) I think your over complicating this. After you search/replace the text why can't you save as a new text file?
    • file.txt (contains 200 versions)
    • file.txt (contains 200 versions)
    • file.txt (contains 200 versions)
    • etc...

    As long as you save the original 200 text file you can copy/paste the same original file all day long creating new files from the copies.

    When your finished with all the unique variations of the original text file (200) then combine all the text files into a final text file If needed.

  • Yukon . . . Thanks, yes, I suppose I will have to do it that fully manual way. It just becomes a hassle after a while. The UAW software does it automatically, so I hoped there was another similar solution out there. Thanks.

    JulieWhite . . . . do you have a few minutes to share the steps to use in EXCEL? I would appreciate it.

      Most of that could be automated with VB.net, there's tons of free source code online related to text files.
