Doesn't matter.. In G webmaster central you have to set singapore as a target country and your rank will be better in .com.sg

Just set the targeted country to Singapore in GWT. Also, the country specific domain surely ranks on that particular region. And when it comes to local search, you are likely to get ranked in .ca rather than .sg far better. It doesn't affect anything if your hosting is from another country or the place you are in.
