Best way to promote link directory?

Hello, recently i bought a domain on godaddy categorydirectory.com.

I searched the history via archive.org and found that previously there had been a link directory on it, so i decided to revive it with my own wordpress design and start selling home page links from it (already sold a few to my colleagues) + create small seo blog for some relevant traffic.

Please advise me: what is the best way to promote such kind of business? Where do i get links for this (not monthly billed, but ever lasting)? Any special tips?

    A sig link here should be all you need to attract hundreds of idiots looking to get a link on yet another garbage directory site.

    Hell, create a WSO for it while you're at it. They eat that crap up.

        Like Mike, I'm call BS on this.

        Click on your OWN link. You have an article begging people to sign up, and what looks to be a POST with a few links. That's not a DIRECTORY, that's at best a crappy blogroll.

        Thus far, it's even crappier than 95% of standard link directories that at least have ~20 categories on the homepage.

        And you're already going right to one of the spammiest categories full of IM'er nonsense with Forex garbage.

        What's next? Payday loans and magic weight loss pills? How about a "how to grow taller" category since that seems to be a niche around here.

    I think the best way to promote link is you can write a blogs , forum ,infographic ,question and answering regarding your websites and mainly you can use social media sites .
