Can you still buy backlinks for money that actually do good with your site ranking or is google pretty much on top of that already?
I'd love to know what backlinking services you guys use in 2014 if any.

It's a bit of a contradiction asking to buy natural backlinks.

If you pay for a link it's not natural, it's paid.

I don't pay for links, I build link bait that generates links naturally.

No point asking me what you should use as link bait, I don't know, something about your niche that webmasters will link to or at least share on social networks sites.

So say we make a nice infographic and post it on our site. What are some methods for the bait? send the link out on Social media hoping someone will see it and like it then link to it? Any other cool methods ? Maybe email webmasters showing them your new cool infographics?

I don't think you'll find a service on this forum that sells natural links.

Are there services that work, despite Google being on top of it, yes definitely.

He's like a walking encyclopedia, if you enjoy reading such posts be my guest.

What's a natural backlink? A link on a site that is somewhat relevant and real/active, not an expired repurposed domain so to say.

Who cares about the buying aspect, Google can't know whether you bought it so sure a natural link can be bought.

Linkbait with huge outreach campaign (with or without bribes) is in fact the exact same thing as buying, just put in a different jacket.

Backlinks are still an important part of search engine marketing. Instead of buying links you can get great natural back links that helps to improve your website search engine rankings for sure.
    Social bookmarking
    Guest blogging
    Curate quality content
    Pinning blog images
Submitting posts to StumbleUpon, Inbound and Tumblr and so on
    PDF distribution

    Hope this will help you.

Personally these days I'm moving towards epic content marketing - you can find out more via the content marketing institute at Content Marketing Strategy, Research, "How-To" Advice ... and to combine that with social shares gained through offering more info as a prerequisite (there are quite a few plugins/scripts that can help with that)... Noting the amount of effort to do that is just so much less than tiered link building.... and it works well with G.

That said a couple of great authoritative back links always helps... For me I prefer PBN's - that is to buy domains, re-establish content and eventually place my backlink on it, making sure its on a different hosting provider.... and of course reaching out to related niche authority sites with really awesome epic content as part of guest postings... with that you could even semi automate that task with amazon's mechanical turk and using scrapebox lol....

For buying backlinks... You need to be real careful to avoid fake PR sites.. with making sure you check all the metrics and background of a site such as authority and trust indicators... So you'll see fiverr is in generally out of the equation given that there are so many fake pr sites... I've used digital point at times for a quick boost... and that has worked out well.... A while back I also used SAPE - but not sure if that is now on G's radar with getting busted effectively.... Suffice to say - hope that helps, good luck!

Paid links are not natural, but they might not be black hat... Google said if something like yahoo paid directory closely curates the site the put on there directory the link may count for something or at least not hurt.

Nic0 there are some webmasters out there, like me, that create link bait and don't do any outreach, just leave it to chance. It's hit and miss, but rather than spending my time chasing backlinks I create content webmasters will naturally link to.

For example have a site which has naturally generated almost 14,000 links from Tumblr.com, almost 400 from wordpress.com, ~1,400 from Blogspot.com, 77 from Yahoo.com, 44 from Wikipedia (assume they are nofollow).

Didn't ask for any of them, all natural links because the content was linkable.

Can you buy links that are natural, no.

Can you buy links that appear natural, yes of course.

If you are buying backlinks based on PR, you are already doing it wrong.

Oh yeah, didn't associate Mic with racial connotations, not covered Mic jokes on the site, will have to see if there's any traffic.

Mic Jokes not a joke SERP worth targeting according to the AdWords tool. Mick Jokes (seems to be the 'correct' term: 20 searches a month) also not that great, though there seems to be hundreds of searches looking for the longer tail "Paddy and Mick Jokes", so those are worth targeting.

Well.. In reality you could make great content and pay someone to do outreach for you right? That would be outsourcing your time. Although not directly buying the links you are paying someone to research where to put them...

Any Outreach specialist out there? or better to hire a VA?

That would be considered buying Natural links...

Hell, I will even take Grass fed...

IMO, the only "natural" backlinks you can buy is when blogs offer writeups/advetorials. In my niche (and I'm sure in most other niches too), big blogs/influencers can write about you for money. When they do, you'll get a link.

By definition a paid backlink is not natural. So, to answer your question: No.

However, you could look into Media Buying, which is finding other websites that cater to the same demographic you are trying to reach and purchasing ad space on their website (depending on how they set it up, could result in backlink to your website)

I wouldn't buy backlinks rather i would pay for SEO.
There is big difference between these two.

You can also answer your question by Googling the top sites in your market and examining their backlink profile. I'm sure you will find something fishy about it too.

If you don't want to run SEO you may opt for PPC, Email marketing, Social Media & Blogging..

There's no a service per se, but if you do a lot of outreach you'll see that a lot of people who own websites ask for money to allow a guest post.

They'll call it "commercial post" or something like that and 99% of the time they will ask for ridiculous amounts. For an inner page link and with Google moving towards devaluation of guest posts, and again, 99% of the time it's not worth it.

I think link building is the foundation and 1st step for a site to increase rank , But it should be natural way. Google always give priority in natural link building process .
