Penguin Still Rolling ?? I think maybe it is.

So there are some industries that I watch very closely. And of course the number 1 industry I watch is SEO.

When I say I watch it I mean I watch the sites associated with it and their owners. I do this because I've gone into providing SEO as my main source of income. And who better to spy on and learn from than the guys ruling the roost?

There are a couple in particular that caught my eye earlier this year because they're considered to be some of the big boys in the online world and they all belong to the same group that offer a famous course. And one thing that I noticed about them was that they were dogging it with PBNs in a huge way.

They were and still are dominating the industry by taking over individual cities for SEO services. That's their schtick and they're very damn good at it.

So when the new penguin refresh started rolling out I started tracking their rankings for the sites they run in each city. About every three or four days I would look in on them. And I was a bit aghast because none of them were tanking. These guys were back linking out the wazoo and penguin didn't seem to be affecting them in any way.

Today I looked in on the biggest one of these guys sites and his home page went from position #1 on the first page of Google, down to page #7. And it's an interior page that's coming up. Not the home page.

So I'm thinking maybe penguin is still rolling out? Or maybe it went through some major tweakage in the last week?

Regardless I hate to see it for this guy, and will continue to check on his site daily for a while. I don't know him personally but I do know he seems like he loves seeing other people make money online and provides services that teach others to do what he does. Now I'll watch him and see if he can recover it. Maybe he'll even write something about it! I hope if he does try that he's successful.

The Google giveth. And the Google taketh away.

Don't bother PMing me and asking me who's site it was. The only people I would share that with would be either of the two Mikes, GOY, or Yukon.
