Transferring blog into a separate directory

Hi,

Quick question.

I have a Wordpress blog on the root domain and I'm launching an online store platform in place of the blog (root). I want to transfer that blog's WP setup to domain.com/blog/ or blog.domain.com without generating any 404. I have established links pointing to articles like domain.com/name-of-the-article. Now it's going to be domain.com/blog/name-of-the-article

Is there a way to make a redirection for this type of thing, or somehow leave the article accessible? I don't want to lose any links. What's the best way to go about this?

And if such a thing isn't possible, do you guys think it would be better to leave the WP where it is, and instead build a store on subdomain, like store.domain.com?

Thank you warriors!

If you change any part of the page URLs it's going to be a broken link unless you 301 redirect each individual URL to the new page/URL.

Don't forget about all the internal links.

    • Thanks. Yes, that was kind of the implied question. I know it will be broken, but how do I fix it, or prevent it from being broken?

I'm still considering which shopping cart, and whether to go self-hosted or smth like Shopify, but anybody knows if they can offer some kind of 301 redirect easy setup for such occasions? Will I be able to easily redirect all those .com/article to .com/blog/article? Will domain authority suffer from this?
