Redirection of site to new URL

Hey all,

So I am hoping to pick your brains about the best way to do this.

In a nutshell, I have a great site that is ranking well on Bing and Yahoo for killer keywords with super high CPC. It's doing well on adsense. The problem is the previous owner of the domain was a dubious little shit and was using it for spam. Google took a manual action and delisted the site. I had a manual review done and they have since lifted the action, however it's been over a week and it is still not getting indexed. It also has a bunch of crap backlinks I am too lazy to bother digging for and disavowing.

I have since purchased the .wiki equivalent of the .info domain and will simply copy the site and further develop the new .wiki. domain.

My question is this. What is the best way to redirect the old .info domain to the new one? And even if I strip out the content from the old one, will there be any archives that flag the new one for duplicate content. Am I even doing the right thing here? I guess I just want to catch all the hits while the site slowly falls off the indexes and the new one rises up.

Thanks in advance

The problem here is if you just redirect the domain, you redirect everything with it and that means the bad backlinks

You definatley should take the time to do a link detox and as a last hurdle if you have to then disavow, followed by a 301 redirect, make sure you inform google of a chnage of address in GWT

the point here is you cant just ignore those links you need to do something about them , and the fact you have just come of a penalty ( a deindex is a penalty), google lost some trust in you and its up to you to rebuild that trust by following the google webmaster guidelines

Thanks for the heads up, very useful info. But honestly, I am far too busy and so are my guys so I will just take it down and take a hit until I get the new site up through the ranks which should only take 3 to 4 weeks. Thanks again bro.
