Optimise category page

Hi how best do I optimise my category pages?
I use the Yoast plugin but the normal options are different in the category pages.
It says archive etc. We really need our category pages to rank well as well, as we are posting quotes and
for us to enable each quote to be able to be shared we have had to have all the quotes, in a list on the category page.
Could you give me some pointers on how to do it with the Yoast plugin?
