Hi Guys,

Pulling lots of data from semrush and moz, currently using excel its choppy as hell. Freezes, slow and crap.

Is there any alternative tools out there which i can look at for pulling huge amounts of api data?

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated and thanked!

Cheers,
Chini

  • Then in that case you need to know about databases and programming... You could try ms-access/vba for starter's which will be an improvement over excel any day... Going beyond that you're now looking at real robust RDMS like SQL-Server or Mysql... Btw - there probably are some COTS tools out there that meets most of your needs....

  • Netpeak Checker might work for what you want.

  • There are several ways in which you can use Excel to pull data from websites.

The easiest and most straight forward method is by using the website query option which is available right from the menu. But as you already noticed that can be a bit unreliable.

A more sophisticated way is to use VBA to do the extracting. Again, there are several options available.
I mostly use XMLHTTP object for this type of task. I wrote a small piece of code that you can find for free on (one of) my website(s).

    Good luck!
