Looking for ways or tools to find broken back links

I seen some threads before but my damn search function is so screwed up....

On a side not is there a way to find high PR sites in a certain niche to link too? I know I can look manually but is there something that we can put in our keyword and it will return some high authority sites?

Also WTF happened to Yukon?

Tanks....

  • One word...

    Xenu!

Its free and does the job... Awesome tool and lightening fast!
  • Xenu

Why are you worried about linking to high PR sites? What does the PR matter?

Just do a search in Google and see what comes up. The top sites are the high authorities on the topic generally.

Unless he tells you, you will never get an answer to that.
  • Sweet .. Thanks guys..

Well I know PR is not really a measure now days, but just wanted to get some broad specs (pr) for some outreach..

Well guess he will never tell me as I only know Yukon from here...

    Hate to see him go..
  • Ok I downloaded Xenu

Is there a good tutorial on how to find broken back links on this?

Or am I thinking to much? Should I just put in a url of a high authority site in my niche and see if they have a broken link?
  • It's pretty straightforward process to do. Look at this page:

How to use Xenu to find expired domains and acquire strong backlinks

Get the URLs to check using scrapebox or some other tool to find some decent sites in your niche.

Be aware that it's not some magical process that leads to quickly finding all sorts of great dropped domains. It's time consuming. I don't bother with it, but maybe you'll find a gem or two.
  • There are many backlinks checkers up there that you can use. The best ones are generally those that runs as a web service. Some of them are more expensive than others, a simple Google search can find them all.

There is no easy way to find high quality and relevant websites for which you can build links from. The best way is to build relations and try guest blogging. Aim at investing in social media marketing, it helps a lot in getting quality natural links.
  • I use https://ahrefs.com/ to do this, they have a feature which exactly tells you what the the broken links pointing to any site.
    Better than Xenu IMHO.
