Privacy Policy / Terms of Service

I just generated a privacy policy which includes my site's terms of service so its one single document and I want to post it on my website so Google can see that I have that.

I don't know how to name my page, no sense in having two pages named "Privacy Policy" and "Terms of Service" with the same content so, what should I go for?

If I name the page "Privacy Policy / Terms of Service" or maybe "Privacy Policy & TOS" will Google still recognize these as it would with specific page names for both?

I don't know how it works so the many point is letting Google know I have a PP and TOS.

Please suggest the best option, thanks!

These are actually 2 separate pieces of information.

The TOS (terms of service) generally explain how users of the website are expected to act while on the site. These are basically guidelines for the visitors on your site so they don't act out of line. These are the rules the users must abide by when using your site or application.

Your privacy policy is the statement explaining how you collect users' information on your site and explain openly what you do with it in terms of keeping it private, selling it, or how you will be using it.

I would suggest making 2 separate pages on your site explaining each of these documents in detail so there's no legal issues or confusion with your site's users

I currently have a privacy policy hand drafted by me and I lost focus when I though of the TOS so I added one segment of text for TOS and named the page Privacy Policy & TOS, however, due to your reply I'll add a separate page and generate the TOS.

However this is a pretty small site and having those two pages takes a lot of space on the top menu design, where the pages are listed.

But its the same thing whether they are in the top menu or somewhere in posts, as long as there is a way for a user to find it its ok right?

There are two important notes to mention here:

    1. Google does not search for your privacy policy pages when ranking your website. Those pages are needed for legal purposes. They have nothing to do with rankings. You need to have them to protect yourself and your website legally.

    2. The privacy policy is not the same as the terms of service. Those two are completely different. If you don't know how to write those, i highly advise you to consult with your web specialized lawyer. There are websites as well that provides such services and many automated tools for generating a well readable legal pages.

    Hope that helps!
