I run an ecommerce site, I sell a product I hand make and was wondering since ecommerce sites dont really have alot of room to work with since its majority a picture of the item and a description of what it is. My pictures have alt text with keywords and the like but Im dead in the water on this. Should I focus more on Off Page SEO? or stick strictly with SMM?

thanks for any and all help!

What is the domain age of your website?
I would suggest to concentrate on PPC,SEO and SMM as well. Update meta tags, sitemap files. build quality backlinks, create internal blog and post articles related to your products and share the information related to each product and blog posts in social networking sites. PPC helps you to drive huge traffic towards your website.

You should create backlinks from high authority site like apple amazon microsoft etc site and more over you should try to get more visitors from search engines and social media. Both of two you can find on fiverr to follow below link

It is true that optimizing e-commerce websites for SEO is much harder than it is for blogs or simple websites. I think to improve your sell; you need to concentrate on both SEO and SMM. By having lots of product pages constantly shuffling on and off the site, numerous problems arise that make SEO very difficult for e-commerce websites. These are the common mistakes in e-commerce SEO
    Lack of Product Description
    Using Product Descriptions from Manufacturers
    Lack of Product Reviews
Not Optimizing Product Pages Based on the Search Demand
    Non-Unique Titles
    Lack of “Speaking” urls
    A Lot of Duplicate Content
    Try to avoid these mistakes.

I think the breakdown of Amazon's menu navigation is a great pattern to emphasize where SEO and usability come together to make a great user experience but provides great SEO advantage at the same time. ideal reason to assessment site architecture.
