Help Me PWN Some Politicians

I've never really cared much about SEO because I've always figured that if you don't poke the G-beast then you're fine. But now I have a project where I would absolutely love to be the top ranking website for the names of certain people.

I live in a small town that has corrupt politicians. I'm talking double the property tax, take bribes, have secret meetings type of people. And the reason they don't care is because most of the community doesn't have the time or education level to participate. It's the typical story of how the little guy is always the one trampled on.

So what do I do? Set up a news website that reports every single meeting, every single mistake, and every single lie. I can't explain how much joy I feel when I walk into a room and see 5-7 pissed off faces of city counsel members.

I certainly have a lot of content for the site that naturally brings up people's names. Using wordpress, I tag people in every post if they're mentioned.

I'm thinking about creating a page dedicated for every player/politician/entity.
I'm looking at 2 options. The first would be to have a page/post that redirects to the tag archives such as example.com/tag/name-of-person/. This would show every topic/post that the individual was involved with.

The second option would be to have a page dedicated to each name. It would list a brief summary of every topic and link to the said post.

In both options I would link the person's name (in whatever article) to point to the corresponding page of articles or summary.

1. Am I doing this right?
2. Does it really matter?
3. Am I over thinking this?

PS: I'm using an SEO plugin to focus on keyword, title, meta, etc.

    Haha, I like you.

    Yeah, this should work.

    Here's a few comments/questions I have:
    • Why are you redirecting to the tag pages? Why not just link to the tag page?
    • Are you intending for the tag page itself to get ranked?

I suggest doing both of your options and creating an About Page for each person with articles linked AND an auto-generated tag page by Wordpress.

Make the about page the primary page you want to get ranked, and link to the tag page from that page as well. Example: Posts with "So-and-so" tagged.

Depending on the search competition, both pages may get ranked highly.

Oh and stay anonoymous and don't get sued!

Disregard "redirecting." I meant I would link to the tag page.

I guess that's the central question. The WP theme I'm using only shows the titles of posts on the tag page. So besides titles, there's no content. If Uncle Google wants content will it be a problem if there's not as much content compared to an About Page?

For site user functionality, I think it makes more sense to link names to the tag archives so that people can go directly to articles about the person. If the tag archive can get ranked, then that would be great and avoid a middle step.

It's too late, but being sued sounds fun. A courtroom would make for a fun audience. Even if it's just the judge who has to sit there and listen to the stack of facts vs the pile of sh... Besides, it's not like I'm writing "Bob sits when he pees" when I have enough content to write "Bob forgot to report his campain finances and the state ethics committee has been contacted."

    Thanks for the help.

Some cause-oriented hackers recently hacked one of my websites. So I researched what they're about and then donated a large sum of money to the entity they hate the most.

The next time they hack one of my websites I'm going to donate DOUBLE.
