Any more updates on Penguin?

Hey guys,

So it's been a while and surprisingly nobodies having a cry about how crap their rankings got since the last update. I got slapped myself but I'm working on fixing it.

Some of my pages are still ranking okay, however, the pages that did end up getting slapped are on page 4-9. My question is this:

Does anyone know if links were simply devalued OR is it going to permanently impact my rankability of those pages? If that's the case, it would make sense to delete those pages, and then recreate a new one and start pointing fresh links at it.

Also, I know there's a lot of info on PBN sites out there and I'm working on a few at the moment. Is there any resource which might be helpful for a total beginner to not get smashed by an algo or trigger some sort of penalty?


Any help is appreciated.

    Your the only one that can answer that question.
    1. Build a new webpage.
    2. Target a very easy same niche longtail keyword.
    3. Build fresh quality links pointing at the new webpage.

    With competition removed from the situation (longtail), either your page ranks or it doesn't. If the new page ranks fine, move up to the higher traffic keywords.

    Don't try to rank pages on the same penalised domain, old or new. You are just going to end up wasting your time. Follow the tips in this article to build a better and more secure PBN: Why I’ll Keep Growing My Private Link Network After Google’s “Crackdown”

    SEO power, not sure if getting "slapped" is the same thing as a penalty although I'm guessing it is. I did not get a "manual spam action" or anything of the sort. I clearly got hit when the Penguin update rolled out and my organic traffic went from 200+ to less than 50 a day.

    On another note, I created a new page a few days ago targeting the same keyword as one that got hit by Penguin, and it's already ranking higher than the old page. Still on Page 2 - lets see if I can get it to page one.

    I am working on a PBN at the moment and trying to make it look as natural as possible because it's my first time with this method.

    Yeah, well I doubt anyone here really cares. The fact is that they work or they wouldn't be so against them I've seen some rank increases myself and can just imagine how powerful it'll be when it starts growing bigger and better. I'm just being very careful to not get caught. Most of those PBN networks were selling links, which means they weren't really "private" at all. It would be so easy for Google to buy some links on these networks and destroy them all at once.

    Well, I am complaining . My 4 websites dropped dramatically in Google, but I figured out why: I was using the same anchor text too often. I also linked tohes websites from my other websites. Although, I have 8 websites in total and only 4 have this drop issue in Google (thank God) . I also don't have anything in my webmaster tool in manual actions section.
    I don't know if this would help, but I changed my anchor texts, and build more backlinks. I can just hope and pray for a miracle .

    mrgood - why don't you try this: delete the pages which were targeting some keywords and then repost the same content on a different URL, then build fresh links. That will tell you weather it's only pages that were hit or your entire site.

    CutPasteProfits, from 4 websites 3 of them are partially hit, and one completely. When I paste my website link in Google, it doesn't show my homepage or my posts,nothing. It shows something only in case when I type site:mywebsitelink . Then it shows my homepage and all of my posts. For the rest of the websites, when I paste my homepage link in Google, it shows certain posts, but never my homepage.
