Would it cause your SE rankings any harm if you ran some articles through a translator and submitted them to foreign articles directories and free content pages around the web?

Basically what I want to know is... would there be any consequences for having a bunch of non-English content pointing to an English site?

I don't see any reason problems. Can you?
