If you write interesting articles no seo plugins are necessary, belive me, better is to not focus too much on optimisation to not get penalized, the border is very thin and changing all the time. Focus on unique valuable content and the content you wrote will pay off, belive me.

After 2-3 weeks you will start to getting traffic from Long Tail phrases, if your content is interesting enough the people will share them, install Shareholic plugin with all the share buttons possible. I got that way a lot of shares every single day.

Just use a very good THEME and a sitemap plugin , thats all. If you want to go into SILOing your website then have a read about that I can guarantee it works perfectly. Do not use any seo plugin , they are just unuseful.

Why do you need to dig up an old topic to just post "me toos"?

Also, the stuff that these plugins do is so simple that most of it can be handled by any decent theme. If your plugin is only adding a few lines to the header it's a bit silly to talk about "the best". These two popular plugins are just fine, and there's handful of others that are ok too.

I also vote for Yoast's plugin. It works very well for me. Check out this video I made using Yoast's plugin. I optimized the page for the search term "I hate my web host" and about a month later I was #1 in google for that term. Of course it's not always that easy because so many search terms are so competitive. But if you choose a good, not-too-competitive long-tail keyword and follow everything the plugin tells you to do, it'll really help. Be sure to write ALL your articles that way. Oh, and write well. And write a lot. The "write a lot" thing is the hard thing. I don't do it nearly as much as I should.

I use SEO by Yoast. It will list the different items you need to do and give you a score on reading for your content. Once you go through the tabs for the plugin you will get a green light letting you know your SEO is good for that page. Very easy to use!

The tool is OK for what it is, but it's just a simple helper function. It can't even handle keyword variations as far as I know. It doesn't say anything about your placements or results. Getting a green dot is far from really ranking.
