Quick q

If im building an asset for a site, lets say an infographic; obviously the best types of inbound links would be from bloggers and webmasters whom ive reached out to via email outreach.

But what about the 50 or so sites that I can upload my infographic to and post links as well?

Is there any SEO value from those upload links? And does anyone think theres a risk of penalty in the future?

I would guess that a smaller site with no backlink portfolio would benefit from uploading links more so than a bigger site, but want to hear what others think.
