How to get a steady SEO article writing contract?

I have been writing SEO contents for last 2 years now and while most optimizers says that content is king, there is no steady work opportunity on the freelancing market. Am i missing something here? Do you have any suggestion on how i can get a steady SEO content writing job ? Please do not take it as a promo post.

    SEO and article writing are not one and the same.

    If most optimizers you know say content is king, well,
    you are running around with the wrong crowd.

    Market yourself as an article writer, nothing more, nothing less.

    Or, why not decide on a nice or subject that you are actually an
    expert on, make a site on that. Then you have a writing job
    forever.

    I still cannot fathom hiring content writers for the sheer act of
    hiring a content writer. I want a writer that is an expert on the
    subject.

    Not one who claims to be an "SEO" content writer.

    What Paul said is true. SEO writing and article writing are not the same thing.

    Anyone with good grammar can write an article.

    I back his suggestion of just marketing yourself as an article writer.

    As i have mentioned i am working as a writer on freelancing marketplaces, i quoted "seo content writer" as my occupation. Thing is that most of the people who needs a writer, asks for seo writer. What kind of site do you think i should go for? adscene based? or affiliate based?

      Nonetheless, you should write as a writer. There's no need to name yourself an "seo content writer". There are many writing jobs on textbroker (US only), iWriter, and freelance sites and you can get steady work on these sites.

    Its a tough market for writers. I have a guy over seas that will give me 500-600 key word based SEO content for around $3 a article. My SEO site is ranked top three in six city's in my state. With three #1's based off of his content.

    I can put you to work but that is a tough price to compete with.
