Hi everyone let me give you a quick background on my problem...About a year ago I was ranking on the first page of google for my keyword with about 40 decent quality articles on my website. I spent some time on SEO, but honestly not that much (The URL was an EMD FYI). Anyway, I ended up forgetting to renew that URL and lost it, so I was forced to go with a similar but different URL. Since that time I have been adding several high quality articles each week and have spent a ton of time on SEO yet my ranking is still brutal. In fact, my websites Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest profiles rank above my website on Google for my keyword. Any suggestions on what I can do to fix this issue? Thanks!

You need to build links. You cannot rank with content alone.

Also, if you started a new domain, it can take about 6 months to get out of Google's sandbox.

    Hi,

Many changes have happened in the last years so I would first check and see what happen to the previous content under the old domain. Is the old domain registered by someone else?. If not, why can't you not register it again?

My worry is if it is registered by someone else and the old content is still present and you posted some of it on your new domain, it can be flagged as duplicate content which now days is pretty bad. What did you do with the old content?

Someone scooped in and stole the domain from me because it was getting 1000+ visitors a day and now has a couple of his affiliate links on it (non of my previous content). As for my old content, it is on my new domain, but how can it be duplicate content if its no where else on the web and is on my same website, just with a different URL name?

    Hi...

Well it can still be indexed however will show an error when clicked on. Right now your content URL looks something like www.olddomain.com/content-name. This is why many people who purchase a new domain will forward a old domain to the new seo if someone clicks through search engines...they will be redirected to the new domain with the content. Do this....

    sitelddomain.com

See if you can find your old domain showing up with your old content as the URL.

Or please post old domain and new here if you are ok with that. I want to check what's going on.

    Hi,

I am only saying because it seems as a recent change so don't know what is still indexed within Google database. I just like to be safe when approaching such a situation.

    Hi,

I did a quick search and with your old domain you ONLY have content written by the new owner. You should be good to go. Also, if you want to outrank this person...do thing differently and make content longer + more in-depth. Google puts high emphasis on quality.

    Thanks,
