Question about Domain name for SEO

So, i've found a niche and a good keyword that i would like to target. The problem is, the keyword has a hyphen in it. If i buy a domain that has the keyword in it, i would be using a hyphen in the domain. Would google consider it one word(like i need it to be) or would google consider it 2 separate words and not aid me in SERP?

    No problem. I use hyphens and my site rank pretty well. One will not hurt.
