A spammer sent me 100 deindexed directory links a month ago

So around a month ago a spammer sent me around 100-200 links on his ****ty directories with the words portable cash register as anchor text for most of those links.

I posted about it on Google forums and they said those links are all de-indexed so I shouldn't worry about them. I also added them to disavow file as a precaution.

Do you think I should bother getting them removed from the internet- try to get the hosting company for this webmaster to remove them or rather move on from them?

None of them have shown up in webmaster tools to date so I think the guy from Google forums 'might' be right that Google ignores these links.

Anyone have ideas on this?

Thanks

No reputable host is going to remove links from a client's site. Just get better links going forward. 90% of people selling links are issues waiting to happen

IMO you're asking for trouble flaunting your link profile on a Google forum.

Besides, how do they know you didn't buy the crappy links, you can't prove either way. For all they know it's buyers remorse.

True, but it all came in over night out of nowhere and its easy to see how I got rid of tons of links while cleaning the site up. I agree though- might be better to stay out of there - a while ago someone did actually help me with a huge links of lists to remove and disavow which seemed to help tho, but ya may be better to discuss here than there.

During the recent updates the new links seemed to have no effect on my site so i think it may be true that Google simply ignores some links like that as in no positive or negative gain from them.

I would suggest you to clean those links even though they're from de-indexed directories. First contact directories owner(s) directly about this issue and things didn't go as you're expecting then you have Google Disavow tool.

My point is Google didn't read de-indexed pages fine, but what about other search engines they're reading and caching it. So you're building repo for other search engines.

I'd try and get them removed, directory links are the worst kind of links and there's one guy who's the biggest con artist in the world behind them. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the guy behind yours.

I was able to get them removed though as I provided evidence to the host of his extortion tactics and let the host know I had nothing to do with these links being created.

Most of the time the hosts you contact have already had multiple contacts from others saying the same thing. In my case the host suspended his sites until his links were removed.

The person created them because he wanted to make 100's of dollars off them. So far I'm not sure these have effected my rankings but this is my biggest problem with how Google runs now, some stupid spammer can screw over other people's sites.

I wonder if at some point getting high rankings will mean negative SEOing each other.

Also here is this ****bags email address - dirsvk@gmail.com - can probably find his crappy directories with a little bit of digging around.

The thing is I don't want to push him more cause he might get the bright idea to send more links but I may see if his phone number from whois info works to contact him directly. Also to combat this my main strategy is continuing to look for quality authority links so things like this won't really effect my site anyway.

I would just ignore this, 100-200 links isn't very many, and spend your time turning your website into an authority.

A annoying thing is on ahrefs my anchors look nice since I fixed up old bad links but these dumb links this spammer gave me now has my site with an anchor text that is at 40% - i did disavow these tho and I'm guessing Google might recognize a lazy negative seo attack like this and also considering it is from sites deindexed from google. also if google picked them up they could see they are disavowed right away.

You are worrying too much. 100 directory links is nothing to fuss about, even if they are indexed. Just ignore them. Since they are on deindexed sites, they won't affect your site in any way.

Would you mind PM'ng me the list of directories? I'm curious about their history and who's behind it. I know you posted email but would be curious of the list.
