Hello Everyone,

Do outbound links to quality websites make any difference, from a SEO perspective?

It just seems too easy for a bad quality website to link out to all sorts of good websites for this sort of thing to make any difference.

As far as I can see it does make a difference. It probably might not make much difference in the future when Google clamps down on this, but for the time being it still has a big influence.

I wouldn't say big influence, but I agree it still counts (especially negative effect, when you link to a 'bad' site). It should be done reasonably, links should be relevant and so forth, but my experience shows that co-citation still works.

It will not hurt, specially if you link to a site or content that will be beneficial to your visitors, anyway this is the reason why internet was created to interlink related documents or information.

The quality of a site has nothing to do with outbound link but rather quality outbound link can help a site rank well on the SERP.

If you have a good number of quality links and your bounce rate is low you will be on the way to building a user and search engine friendly website.

First I would suggest you build your site for people.

The number of inwards links which are of high authority and High PR matter for search engines SERPS. The outbound links to high quality websites, will not be influential in deciding the ranking of a website.

Yes It does makes a difference. When you're giving link to one of the high authority site, Google takes it this way - You're directing user to the in depth content which will be useful for them. I'm not sure whether this helps in ranking or not. but its good to have some quality outbound links.

You can linkout to high quality or authority website like facebook, twiter or pininterest..etc. There is no loss in linking to them. However, it does not help much in improving the rank of your website in Search Engines Results Page.

halmark of a well researched article... just like in academia.

Go for .edu / .ac.uk rather than wiki if you can.

Are they trackbacks? If so, it could be beneficial for SEO.

Google recognizes that not all sites are 'authority' status. And, appreciates when you link to an authority status site to back up your words. And, actually linking to an edu or .gov or wiki site that has more comprehensive information about what you're talking about would be seen as a good sign as you are in good company.

in my case yes. Google analyze your inbound dofollow and nofollow links as well as out bound links. so outbound links to quality website is good for your site's reputation.
