How to get post images to appear in google search results?

I did a search today and noticed that some google search results have images appearing next to them.

i did a search in google "raw milk into yogurt" and the second and third listing had an image appearing next to it of yogurt which was the first image in their post when I clicked their site.

Is there some way to influence this?

I tried searching about this online but all I could find was results about google authorship which is no longer relevant.

    Those thumbnail images you see in the SERPs for the keyword raw milk into yogurt are generated by schema tags. There's a 3 page forum thread on the subject here: Anyone using Schema

    It's a rich snippet and is basically a short summary of your page in the search results of Google, Yahoo, Bing in nice format with star ratings, author photo, image, etc.
