Links getting de-indexed

Question for everyone.

It seems my links are getting de-indexed, the links are on powerful web 2.0 sites and aren't spammy etc and are pointing to a genuine site etc.

Anyone else experience this etc?

Do you mean they were indexed and then they weren't any more, or that they simply never got indexed? Things you need to consider:
    - Google's link: operator will never show you more than a small fraction of links to a url
    - If a web 2.0 page with a link to your site does not show up in a search this does not mean it has not been crawled and may not mean you did not get any juice from it.

    Hi Peter,

They were indexed and then de-indexed. I am doing a search of the URL in Google and it was indexed and now isn't.

sorry to ask if it seems to obvious but do mean your website pages are getting de-indexed or your backlinks are getting de-indexed? BTW in both cases its nothing unusual and there must be an explanation for this.

Links don't get de-indexed they get de-valued. Web pages on the other hand can be de-indexed. I had a Blog with over 170+ indexed pages. Now everyone of the indexed pages are gone. The only thing I figure is that this two year old site got caught being an automated site. Tsk...Tsk...Tsk... My bad!

Now it will coast til the Death Angel of Registrations comes to claim it.

Some Sites are being banned because, webiste owners dealt with companies and paid for high volumes backlinks. Google frowns on this action of adding backlinks to your sites to quickly. This has been going on for a while now.
I'd try and limit back links to at most 100 new ones a week on social blogging, remember your I.P. number is post out there also.
Way too many people trying to add 5000 links a month........and it stings when your busted. Anyways goof luck

I wouldn't worry too much about 1 link - even if it is a very good one. I used to have a link from wikipedia... then the buggers (I mean admins) said my site was spam! That was a very good link to have.... oh well.... Just keep building more links.
