Why is my website not growing?

Hi there, first of all, I'd like to apologize if this is the wrong area to be posting this question. I'm new here.

So my issue is that I built a website about 7 months ago and have been working on building it ever since. RedScams | Preventing online scams!

I've noticed some growth, but nothing really impressive. I only get about 2 dozen visitors per day. I don't see what I'm doing wrong and I was hoping maybe someone could guide me in the right direction.

Cheers

I work mainly in finding good keywords and constantly adding new blog posts.. I have a facebook, twitter and tumblr account which I post on regularly. I guest post on blogs.. other than that, I'm not quite familiar with internet marketing strategies..

I never really used paid ads because I don't know whether or not they will be worth the investment

Get buzzbundle and start interacting with your target audience.

Do some SEO on your keywords.

Go on yahoo answers and provide solutions to problems and add a link that redirects to your website.

Use PPC and send instant targeted traffic.

Or even better, use ppc and build an e-mail list.

Possibilities are endless, you just need to take action!

Is there any way that I could increase my traffic without using paid advertising? I don't mind putting in a lot of hard work, I just don't have a huge budget because my site has no major streams of income.

    1. Get a sitemap and insert it to google and bing webmaster
    2. write more reviews
    3. You website loads kind of hard, fix that !
    4. get a blog and write updates and things like that. Make it yourwebsite.com/blog not blog.yourwebsite.com . Repeat step 1
    5. That top banner + it's space is too big, It doesn't look that appealing to me
    6. you have two banners with ipage. why?!
    7. i click on google+ icon and you sent me to your tumblr. That made me giggle. But doesn't look professional.
    8. Term of service ?! I don't see them anywhere. Also contact details ?!? You look more scam to me than those websites
    9. I think you should go for other template. Something that will display me from homepage a lot of shortcuts to reviews. Some magazine style template. You try to much to look like a big company but we all knew you aren't . At least make the content readable.

Ps: i found your sitemap http://www.redscams.com/sitemap.xml . And something interesting revealed. You created categories and about us page on may 2014 , and the only reviews you started to build was on October 2014. Either you bad at math or you try to BS us, either way, bad for business kid.

I'm too cruel if I say your website is scam at this point ?! Maybe, but this is my opinion.

      Thanks for the response.

No, I started posting reviews in may. I don't know why you think it was in October, but I definitely started in may.

My website loads hard... what do you mean by that and how would I go about fixing it?

I'll consider making the top banner smaller.

I'll remove an ipage banner as well.

The google+ thing is because I suck with coding websites and was unable to change the icon to a tumblr icon.. I'll have to find someone to fix that for me.

I never thought of adding a contact area since I already have 2 contact forms, but I see how it could be an important thing to add.

I'll also get a terms of service & privacy policy written up.

I don't know about another template, I'll have to look into that as well.

Overall, thanks for the tips! I appreciate it, but no I'm not a scam. Just a guy trying to build his first website.

BTW, I'm actually a full-time writer, so I don't see why you would say that my content is not readable..

I changed the main structure of how the reviews are displayed. I added categories to make it a lot easier for people to find what they're looking for. I think the site is starting to take shape .. so thanks again to all of you who gave me advice! I really appreciate it

I was thinking about adding categories such as "Money Making Scams", "Green Product Scams", "BodyBuilding Scams" etc... do you think that would help out with the structure of my site?

I'm new to website developing so this would definitely be a complicated task for me, so I don't want to do it if you think it wouldn't help out all that much.. thanks for all advice, I appreciate it!

I think you have to follow on-page seo first then off-page seo, only effective seo can increase your website position. I have an website which is 7 mounts age like you but very happy to say that i got 200-300 visitor everyday & i am going organic seo only.

Millions of websites are available related your topic. If you want to grow, spend time for finding your position where are you now? what's your competitors doing daily? How they got more followers? and more.

If you think I post daily content, forget this thing because 1 quality content is better than 10 content.

That's only one piece of the cake.

Quality content and proper SEO can be a goldmine but
it can also destroy your site's rankings if you build backlinks blindly

Hey. The site looked decent to me but you would probably need alot more content & cover more categories as well. The other thing is the niche that you are in & the fact that most people will probably check out www.scam.com 1st. Probably need to find a way to get real reviews from people that have used it before as well. Adding a forum may be a good idea to increase your views. I would then go to high ranking sites & videos that are related & add at least 10 natural back links a day if possible as this would give you 3650 in a year Good luck & keep up the good work

Wow so many helpful responses! Thanks a lot for all this help!!

See, that was my problem.. I'm new to website building and I never even considered all of the things that you guys have mentioned!

I'll definitely be working on adding more content. I want to add 1 blog post per week and 3 reviews per week starting in january.

The PPC sounds good, but it will have to wait because I don't have much of a budget right now.

Adding 10 backlinks per day sounds interesting as well, I'll definitely get to work on that. Same for the keyword research.

I also like the idea of having a forum, I'll have to see if there's a way that I can just add a pre-built forum template because as I mentioned, I'm new to this and creating a whole system where people have accounts, usernames and passwords etc. is out of my league at the moment.

What do you expect from growth, how do you define it? If you mean more traffic then you need to work harder on SEO and social media marketing.

And, this is where third party verification such as customer/site user testimonials and reviews will pay off. If you post a few really good testimonials from satisfied site users who claim the site saved them from scam, you are likely to increase your credibility with other users.

Your website has a good potential. You need to pay attention to the design which needs to be made a lot more better. Your website has only few posts or website reviews. Therefore you need to increase it to at least 100 before you will start receiving good traffic.

Can you increase your font size. I found the writing a little to small to read. In fact the first time I visited your site my first impression was to stop right there and get out and go to some other site as I found the writing to small to read.

    Hello Red Scams!

Firstly you should to do check your site meta tags, content optimize, alt tag, heading tag and verify with Google webmaster.
after you should to do work with off page seo activities like article, bookmarking, directory, forum, blog, link wheel and more....

after using these activities your site running good on Google search result.

    Thanks!
    Sachin
