Hi Warriors,

Compliments of the season!

I need to use a tool like Ahrefs but Ahrefs is quite pricey. Does anyone know a cheaper alternative to Ahrefs please?

Thanks.

It depends what you're exactly looking for. I use SEMRUSH and it's definitely a winner, but it's pricey. But if what you're needing is a tool to analyze your inbound/outbound links (or competitors), check header status etc: Screaming Frog SEO Spider Tool & Crawler Software | Screaming Frog and Xenu are just great.

@elenabrz. Thanks, but that tool is a desktop tool which you have to download. I would rather an online tool. Also, that tool contains way too many functions than i require and so may be diversionary. I simply need to analyze my competitors backlinks, separated into dofollow backlinks and nofollow, as a means to be able to build up my own site's backlinks.

Have you tried backlinkwatch? It's not perfect but is free and does the job.

Most of the backlink checker tools are very expensive. I don't know why this is so.

Do you think it is cheap to try to crawl the entire internet and store that amount of data?

Try these free ones. They are pretty good. I think Ahrefs is the best, but you are right a little pricey unless it is for your actual business. If for your own few sites it is a lot to pay.

    Coupon code = CYBER50

Will make it a bit cheaper.

    Hope this helps.

Well, I would say ahrefs is the best tool to move out with and I don't think that there are much of the alternatives as best as ahrefs but you can try using WebMeUp tool, I would say it's also another great piece of tool that works almost the same way like ahrefs do, it do worth giving a shot and for rest of the deciding thing I think I'll leave it over to you ! Also let us know which one your decide to move forward with ???

Ahrefs is one of the better tools and some say it is the best in it's catagory. There are shared accounts out there that can significantly reduce the prices for these services. Hit me up for more info on that.

Other than that the other popular ones are majesticseo and some of the other ones brought up on this thread. Check them out and compare pricing and what you need from the tool.

You can look around to find for trustable group buys. It'll save you a lot.

But if you just need to do 1 or 2 analysis in a month, you can find on Fiverr people able to get the reports for you from tools like Ahref, MOZ, Majestic SEO.

There are other capable SEO "combiners" that come cheaper. As soon as something goes popular, prices become a ripoff. What vexes even more is that some "experts" rely solely on brand forgetting to check facts and figures.
As to your questions, yes, there are great many cheaper alternatives. Here's proof:

You can choose SEMRush, because of it's low cost & comparatively good features than MOZ & Majestic SEO.

I can recommend SEMRush, as it has lot of features such as On-Page Optimization tools, Content Suggestion Tools, Position Tracking, Competitors Tracking, Keywords Gap Tool & many other features. I have never used Ahrefs, but will use it for sure to understand its functionality.

Always heard about Ahrefs, many people recommend it. Some stick to Ahrefs & some with SEMRush, few also use both (may be due to functionality which one covers & other doesn't)

They all offer slightly or drastically different features from one another. The biggest difference is in the reporting, how it's displayed.

You get what you pay for.

Semrush and Ahrefs are costly because they're crawling data over time even you do not your websites to Semrush or Ahrefs. Both semrush and ahrefs are trying to be like Google bot, so they can "unlock" Google and give us the best practices to SEO.
