Choosing a Domain - Owning Brand

Hi All,

We are currently going through a rebrand for our sign website.

Our previous website was Plastic Printing | Corflute Signs - Banners - A-Frames - Stickers, and whilst we got to No.1 in Google for the term, we didnt quite own the page like some other companies do. Examples include:

1. There are ads displayed for other websites above our listing
2. Our logo doesnt appear over the map
3. Our company information doesnt display directly under our listing. You have to click a down arrow to see it
4. Our site links don't show under our listing

Are all of the above, due to the fact that we chose a name / domain, that was for a competitive keyword, which Google didnt want to give up the advertising revenue from? Or is it because we didnt do something properly.

Our new domain is going to be Crazy Domains | inksigns.com.au, and when I search "Ink Signs" there are a couple of ads ad the top, but nothing down the side (unlike Plastic Printing)

By using this new domain, are we likely to run into the same issue of not being able to own the page.

Cheers

Jake

Just seeing if anyone has any thoughts on this.

You can do nothing about the Ads & site links are decided by Google. the rest two might be because of the settings. The second website too will be the same way. Did you see if any other EMD domains in any niche that enjoys the site links facility?

There is nothing you can do about the ads being above your site on the ranking, unless you buy that ad position your self of course..

Those Ads you see when searching in Google are sponsored by Google itself. There's no solution to that - unless you want to buy those positions by paying Google. IMO, stop worrying about the ads stuff. Instead, focus on better SEO and optimization. You'll eventually get through.
