I just found out my new blog that I started in the middle of June has made 83 cents this week from Google. I'm still ranked 197 in google for my main targeted keywords. All of this income has come from other longtails that I hadn't considered targeting.

So, this is my first 83 cents! Now I can go do the happy goat dance!

Thanks everyone for all the advice.

Congrats! That first bit of income is always exciting, no matter how much it is. It at least lets you know that making the online money is possible.

My first non-content-writing-for-someone else came from Adsense as well. I made $2.83 with an adense blog in a couple of weeks. It wasn't even enough for a payout, but I was excited nonetheless.

First sale/earning is important. Somehow I feel it is the psychological barrier that every new marketer needs to step over before more actions can be propelled.

I am not a self starter so that was important for me to believe that it works. Of course, my mentor did a lot encouragement by giving his testimonies after testimonies of how IM has changed impacted him in a great way.

I wish you a wonderful journey ahead in IM.

I have seen these threads before and thought, "Why would you get excited about pennies?". I, like you, started a couple weeks ago, and today I got my first adsense click for 60 cents. Now I understand the feeling.

        Congrats and keep it up.

I just have to keep pushing at it long enough and I can knock it over.

Last weekend I set up a couple of small blogs to funnel traffic to my main blog and next weekend I'm going to work on a link ring based around my target keywords. Earlier last week I had an eZine article published and 2 more are in the queue. I also ran a couple of free classified ads in cities where I thought there might be interest and I may try a few more just to drive direct traffic.

After the link ring I'm going to work on a Hubpage and maybe Squidoo. Google still isn't showing any backlinks. Yahoo only shows a couple. I need to change that so I can move up.

Now that you have a list of keyphrases you should be looking at getting your ranking's higher for those keyphrase by building some good authority backlinks to your site with the appropriate anchor text for each.

Then that 83 cents will look like chump change!
