How much does Google really know?

The paranoia has kicked in, i no longer user Chrome for most activities that would otherwise be against the quality guidelines of Google.

By now we should all be aware that big brother is bigger than ever, not even PBN's are safe anymore unless extreme measures are taken to make them natural.

Having said this, how much does Google really know about you when using Chrome and your logged into a Google account ?

I know it tracks you, via cookies and tracks anonymous data for statistical purposes that supposedly are not identifiable to you for the reasons of targeted ads, etc..etc...

BUT....

How far does this tracking go...

Does G know and cache the actual content of a private forum ? that is not indexed in G ?

Does it read email addresses you use to log into a particular site ? How about the password ? most passwords are easily broken at a entry level using some basic reverse engineering of html code

Does G obey the robots.txt file to not visit or crawl a site ?

Does G know what articles im requesting in iWriter ?

Does G for that matter know anything that is done after a login is parsed on a website for any activity ?

To be safe i guess you just dont use Chrome at all for anything remotely related to activities that are grey hat or blackhat.

But regardless the above questions would be awesome for a guru to answer.

Cheers.

I was thinking about this the other day while working on a Wordpress theme.

Look at most premium Wordpress themes (ex: Themeforest) HTML source code, most use Google Fonts & I guarantee Google is tracking every single page that runs that Google Font code. I wouldn't be surprised If Google could even read the text on password protected pages that run Google Fonts.

    Example:

    Code:
    <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
I doubt most paranoid people would even think of looking at that on their sites (Google Fonts).

@ Yukon This is something no PBN setup Guru has included in their course. LOL.

Personally I feel that Google can independently run an independent analytic version using the Font API's.

So to be on the safer side. I would like to Introduce you to a Plugin that disables Google Fonts from loading & uses self hosting Fonts.

I personally prefer the free WP themes for my PBN designs

The safer side would be to assume they are tracking everything... Absolutely everything. Because they most probably are.

Now where is my foil hat? Oh yeah, Google can see through it!

google monitor every packet of data which is coming in or out from your computer. You say that google tracks cookies through crome no man no even if you stop using google search crome ,analytics or any other service of google will still know what you are searching. Here people think that google dont know about their shady stuff to rank sites google moniter each and every site indivisualy which turns their testing meters light red they do spilit testing of sites which is done by humans not by a machine

It's not about how much google knows. It's about how
much google cares about what they know.

One should have a mindset of not caring what google cares
      to know about.

Setting out to hide from google is a tipoff that one needs to be
      hiding from google.

I don't need to hide from google. Quite the opposite.

Lol good quote. Google has the tools to kill a lot of stuff off but probably doesn't care. It's sort of like the Government has the means to arrest all the torrenters.

Like the Eye of Sauron or Darth Vader's Force choke, the Empire (Google) is most likely only watching and worried about the leaders of the Rebellion, not some 20-site PBN rogue who flies near the Outer Rim or hangs out near the Shire.

No one here is Luke, Han or Frodo. Carry on.

Google knows much more than you think. And chrome is just a tip of iceberg.
Most disturbing is so called 'safe browsing' (just google it :-)) and you will find out that google doesn't need chrome or google analytics to be an effective spy.

It's not about how much they know, it's about how much money they want to shell out on servers to store the information

Pleasing shareholders will always be the number one concern by far.

That's not a problem considering Google has some of the most advanced server farms in the world spread out over multiple countries. They're even running two cache versions of every single indexed page. Storage isn't a problem.

True, but even then there are limitations to how much data you can or are willing to store when talking about all of the data that is transferred over the internet throughout the world every day and including the past.

They proudly collects user data through all these applications and services:

    - Google Chrome
    - Google Toolbar
    - Google Analytics
    - Google Serp
    - G+1 js code
    - Google free resources (Fonts, jQuery, and etc...)
    - Google account logged in users
    - Cookies
    - Safe Browsing
    - Google Desktop Search
    - Google Search Site plugin
    - Google Map desktop version
    - Andriod Operating System
    - All Android Apps

There are also media on the internet that google owns and collects data:

    - Blogspot (blogspot.com)
    - Google sites (sites.google.com)
    - Google plus (plus.google.com)
    - Youtube (youtube.com)

And there are also some products that google never released such as Google Laptop

I doubt if you are one of those who haven't been tracked by Google through using one of
    those services.

No need to say that they are legally the ownership of those data.
This is similar to adding an stat.js code to your site and watching user data.
That's legal because you are the owner of your site. If Google owns all those
services and applications, they are also an owner of their user data pertaining to their properties.

If they don't sell the user data to a third party company, there's no worry legally.

And probably no human access to the data is available but the data is being used by some
    services, programs and applications.
