Changing Article Title Here And There

Hi There,

Just wondering what everyone thinks about changing the blog title to reflect updates. For instance the URL structure would stay the same but if the blog title was "5 Ways To Boost Your Content Conversion For 2015", and then 2016 comes near and I update the title to "5 Ways To Boost Your Content Conversion For 2015"

Keep in mind like I say though the URL structure wouldn't change.

PS: Also I know some might state why not just make a new article. I know I know, asking though if this would work.

Thanks,

Chris

  • I do this on my blog and getting good results.

I have made generic URLs for my blog articles, so every year I just change the titles and publish them again.

  • Go ahead. There's certainly no downside to doing that. As long as your main keyword is still present in the new/updated title, your article will retain its position.
  • Interesting, never though of doing that. However, I bet those old articles could still pull in search data for a couple years. After that I think they would be too dated not to change the date. But you said you wouldn't be interested in creating new posts for those but might be worth the extra search volume.
  • I am confused. Your 2 titles are the same.
  • I don't see any problems with doing that, especially when it's the year that you're changing. I think that should make the article relevant again.
  • Is that what is it supposed to be? His current ones are the same.
  • Changing post title is always works. but you have mentioned same title in your question.
  • if a post is successful than why change anything in it...??
