I noticed the other day that Google analytics dropped keywords from there listing except from there paid listings or at least I thought. However the other day I found keywords again and looked at what people were using but like always most weren't listed but then again today keywords was no were to be found. Does anyone know what is going on with Google analytics.

  • I am not sure I understand... do yo mean one day you are able to see the keywords of your incoming traffic and some others you can't?
  • I don't get the question at all, but..Analytics works good for me, did this happen to you in the past too?
  • Google no longer shows referring keywords for searches performed by logged in users - doesn't matter which analytics tool you use.
  • In Google Analytics you will not be able to see referring keywords for searched as no information will be shared if user is logged in. And in most of the case such searches would come under "not provided"

    • Yes it has been that way for a while now but up until last week I would still see a few keywords and the rest wouldn't be listed like always, what i mean is I don't have an option to see keywords as when you look over your list of things to look at it is no longer there however it was there one day and not the next then back again it didn't make any sense.
  • I didn't yet try it, but I read somewhere that it has to do because the result pages on google are https (ssl) and it's directing to your non-https pages. Try to change your web-site to https and see if the keywords show up. In most cases it's not that easy to change an entire site to https...

  • A free tool provided by Google, you can get any types query of Visiters from this tool.
  • Hello,

Whether it means that you are getting not provided data in keyword tab?

    Kindly elaborate for proper solution.

    • The "new" Google Analytics hid that feature a bit, but it's still there. Select ... acquisition > source/medium > secondary dimension > keyword. Hope that helps.

  • Well, some time ago GA began passing organic search traffic as "not provided" and this has increased over time, to the point where it now passes very little actual organic keyword data. I'm thinking you're referring to this AND possibly getting confused by looking at different reports. If you've connected your GA and GWT accounts then you may have been seeing the latter when you were seeing organic keyword data.
