Fellow Warriors,

I've been out of the SEO game for a couple of years and would like to see if anybody is willing to review my site to see if my methods are "outdated". All suggestions and criticism is welcome!

Leather Hides - Upholstery Leather - Leather Fabric

Thanks in advanced!

You should have mentioned the methods you used in your opening thread instead of asking us to visit your site and review it. Nevertheless, your title is overoptimised. If you are going to put 3 keywords in your title, structure it in a way that reads coherently, like a sentence instead of just putting hyphens in between them.

For example, if I wanted to target these 3 keywords in one title: 'kung-fu training", "kickboxing training", "taichi training", I could do it this way:

Get the Best Kung-fu Training, Kickboxing Training, and Taichi Training Tips
It looks more natural than a title structured like this:

Kung-fu Training - Kickboxing Training - Taichi Training
Secondly, you should add a blog to your site and publish articles on it at least once a week.

As for the spam poster above me, a normal title would read:

"Get the Best Kung-fu, Kickboxing and Taichi Training Tips"

Google doesn't even give that much value to titles anymore so better do it in a normal way.

      Bunch of out-of-date noobs!

Now I'm convinced you know nothing about SEO. Keyword in title is one of the most important ranking factors, and that's why I can't comprehend why you posted such worse-than-spam gibberish.

Lol, welcome to 2010, maybe you should look at the SERP's and see how many exact matches show up on average on page one noob!

Here the top 10 for "best flat iron"
          • Best Flat Irons 2014 - Total Beauty
          • Hair Straighteners Review 2015 | Best Hair Flat Irons
          • Amazon Best Sellers: Best Hair Flattening Irons - Amazon.com
          • Flat Iron & Hair Straighteners | Ulta.com - Makeup, Perfume
          • Best Flat Irons and Hair Straighteners, Top 10 Flat Irons
          • The Flatiron - The Best Hair Tools for Every Budget - InStyle
          • Top 3 Best Flat Irons / Hair Straighteners of 2013
          • Best Flat Irons - Beauty - About.com
          • Best Flat Iron Reviews - Top 10 Hair Straighteners 2015
          • 6 Common Flatiron Mistakes: Hair Ideas: allure.com

As you can see only half of the results uses the exact match "best flat iron" in their post title.

And when you look at the top 5 where all the traffic is only 2 out of 5 used "best flat iron".

Still want to claim that the phrase should be in the exact order to be able to get the best results?

#4 and #10 don't even have the word "best" in the title, heck #4 doesn't even have the word "best" on their whole web page.

But hey stick to keyword stuffing all over, just makes it easier for the rest of us. Just don't spread your nonsense on forums for other noobs to pick it up.

This isn't the first time I had to correct your nonsense, and I bet it won't be the last time either.

Enjoy your one hour indexing, like any decent link needs the help of an indexing service, LMFAO

You should change your sig to

STOP WASTING YOUR MONEY ON WORTHLESS LINKS THAT CAN'T INDEX ON THEIR OWN

That would be a lot more helpful then indirectly promoting spam tools like GSA and the like.

Your theory is so flawed that it wouldn't be worth any time spent debunking it, but I'm gonna spare 2 minutes to correct your gibberish. The OP's site is not a big brand. We're talking about NICHE SITES here NOT BIG BRANDS like the ones you so hurriedly listed. Big brands don't have to follow all the rules or satisfy every ranking factor to rank high for any keyword. The case is different for small/niche sites.

Btw, GSA might be a spam tool, but it works and many SEOs are using it and banking hard with their excellent rankings. I also have profitable sites ranked purely with GSA links. So, say whatever you want. The indexing service isn't meant for whiter than whitehat puppets like you anyway.

Dude give me a break, I do this with my own sites as well and they are nowhere near a huge brand, I can remove the best or review part and still rank for it, maybe 1 or 2 spots lower but that is.

Maybe you can just learn to accept that the title ain't as important as it once was, things change and you seem stuck in time.

Lol at whiter than whitehat, I rank using PBN's fool.

Banking hard WOEHAHAHA last time I checked BHW they were all in tears, and mind you, Penguin is ongoing now, and with the extra time it takes to rank they tank before they rank. Only few spammers with custom mods manage to still rank with a bunch of spam, for the rest it's game over.

  • Thanks for the advice, I haven't been as focused on it and still offer a visually appealing website. I changed the title to "Get the best Leather Hides, Upholstery Leather and Leather Fabric"

Always interested in work, though I haven't checked your site yet, if it's a thin ecommerce site I don't expect you'll rank well.

I think it's doable with a bit of extra content perhaps, and removing a number of pages out of the index like the shop? parameter as well as the /shop/ and /product/ directories, you can easily take care of those directories yourself btw by using the URL removal tool in Google webmasters and blocking them from reindexing in your robots.txt by adding

      Code:
      User-agent: *
      Disallow: /shop/
      Disallow: /product/
There is also an option in webmasters to get rid of those URL's:

      Code:
      shop?orderby=rating&product_count=36
I always use these settings to get rid of them and after use the URL removal tool to remove them:

  • Please review my site nik0. I've been on page 1 of google for a similar site (being a SEO n00b) with the same keywords....long story short the company was purchased by another and i'm basically starting from scratch trying to rank for these keywords: leather hides, upholstery leather, cowhide, leather fabric

Read my above posts about removing and blocking URL's from the index, I edited the post with a bit more detail.

It would also help if you wrote some more content for the pages, they are a bit thin right now.

Cthulchu also has some good points that you can follow.

To finalize it you'd have to bring structure to your site, as you have 3 main keywords it would be wise to have 3 categories that cover it, perhaps add a blog to it and link from each post back to your main pages that you want to rank.

After that it's just a matter of backlinks.

Lol wow plenty of backlinks I see, you've been spamming pretty hardcore, if you don't rank anywhere near page one I can't help you, I ain't gonna risk my network linking out to you.

    I'll focus on content.

You have a few run-on sentences.

Each pattern we carry features unique tanning and finishing which creates a remarkable leather that showcases natural beauty in a variety of look, colors and textures.
Copy should be short and punchy.

"look, colors and textures." -Tenses should agree.

Embossed leather is cowhide that his been “stamped” with a decorative or exotic pattern.
Typos like this really hurt your chances of making a stellar first impression.

This type of leather will give you the ability to achieve an affordable exotic look.
Kind of clunky. Don't use two adverbs in a row. If you must, put a comma after the first.

We are a leather supplier like no other, we offer the largest inventory of upholstery leather at wholesale prices.
You need a period after "other," not a comma.

We have over 40 years of experience of buying and selling leather hides and have built strong relationships with leather tanneries worldwide from South America to Italy.
Remove "of" from the first clause. I would choose a word other than "hides." Sentence is a bit too long. I would put a period after "worldwide" and then elaborate on your sources in a new paragraph.

With our large inventory and diverse relationships we can offer the quality and competitive pricing our customers need.
You need a comma after "relationships" because it's an introductory clause and because the clause that comes after it is independent.

Same types of issues on the About Us page.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

Hey Leather, everything Ghoster said is great advice.. these little spelling and grammar things just pop out at everyone, I'm sure even to people who don't have the best grammar. Not that you don't, it's not easy to come up with copy in the first place, let alone make sure it reads professionally.

This is what it's all about though.. tweak, change, tweak, read, tweak, re-read, it could go on forever.. especially if you're a perfectionist like me Don't get too hung up about getting everything perfect all in one day though, just as long as you have something up to work with (like you do now), and keep perfecting as you go along.
