Looking for some advice on choosing a domain. Is it better to:

a) have the domain match your keyword exactly but be a .net or .org (.com isn't available)

or

b) add an extra word in the domain?

keyword I am going for consists of 2 words.

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

These days, I would recommend just using a brandable domain. Using keywords in your domain doesn't have the punch that it used to. Depends on the niche but these days I'm using all branded domains.

    Kahuna,

Would you mind giving me an example of what you mean by brandable? When I am doing a search, it is often apparent to me that Google still looks at the domain that has key words as it normally highlights them.

    Thanks,

    Daniel

Brandable domain names are domain names that are unique and sound like a brand name. For example, apennyshaved.com targeting the keyword 'best electric shaver'.

APennyShaved.com is the site Spencer of nichepursuits.com used as a case study. Here's a link to the full case study: Niche Site Project 2 Overview - Niche Pursuits
