Google+ page SEO, what to look out for?

Actually I have two questions

first in in the title, and ask if there is a SEO trick to get your G+ page to the top.

And second would be that I've seen for my keyword G+ pages on top which have been auto generated by G+ based on Yellow page profiles.

There is a link to CLAIM them but is that a good idea? Guess not unless you guys have a great idea about how to do this.

To make your Google+ page rank in SEO complete all verification criteria for Google and then on post on a regular basis on Google+.This will help crawl pages with keywords easily into Google search engines. Secondly, if you claim on G+ pages and yellow pages profiles that is definitely a good idea.

As of own social media by Google,it is giving more preferences to crawl your content. If your G+ page is properly optimized and able to utilize the page correctly then no doubt to ranking in top.

Same experience. I haven't done anything special. Just continually update it, and update your site content and it will rank.

I'm not sure that the second question was clear.

The G+ pages I could see in the index where UNCLAIMED pages, based on Yellow Page records.

Those are not mine (obviously) so is it possible that I claim them? Does this need any address or phone verification what would be a bit tricky if yes?

Anybody has done this?
